Since I started working with jewelry and design, I noticed how much men love jewelry — probably almost as much as women, but the options are so much more limited in terms of design and materials. Perhaps the limited options come from the misconception that men do not wear jewelry as much as women or are less selective when it comes to design. I must disagree.

The pieces we wear reflect our desire for individuality and our love for storytelling. This is true for both men and women. This piece is for the man who might just be starting their venture into fine jewelry, or who is seasoned and looking for new aesthetic ideas.

Start with a necklace

If you are new to the jewelry game, I recommend you start with a necklace. A gold necklace in 14 or 18 karat is great. You can always get a pendant for it — something that inspires you or aligns with your aesthetic. A necklace is one of the greatest conversation pieces one can own. Plus, real gold you can shower with or wear to the gym without worrying about it tarnishing or losing its sparkle.

Then a bracelet

The next piece I recommend is a bracelet — a link or chain bracelet is a great starting point. The key to wearing jewelry well is to find a well-fitting piece. Delicate designs are gorgeous on men; a piece does not have to be large or loud to make a statement.

Rings

Ancient Romans wore signet pinky rings as a functional and stylish piece — they signified status and were engraved with a family seal. Rings are undoubtedly a very stylish addition to any wardrobe. Large stones, vibrant colors, and pinky rings are beautiful. Rings are an excellent opportunity to wear colorful stones — beyond the standard wedding or school ring. Stack them or simply wear one at a time.

Earrings and beyond

Earrings are a very popular piece for men in different cultures. If you are interested, do not shy away from color or wearing larger pieces. And there is a world I have not even mentioned including pins, tie clips, and belt buckles. Why limit yourself to the standard?

All my work is designed so it can be worn by both men and women because I am a strong believer that excellent design includes everyone.
